This contract position offers an opportunity to guide students through ELA and college seminar courses while managing a manageable caseload. Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of 810 high school students with special education requirements Teach 11th and 12th grade ELA curriculum, incorporating individualized learning strategies Facilitate college seminar classes, preparing students for post-secondary education and career readiness Collaborate with support staff, families, and administration to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records to track academic growth and challenges Adjust instruction based on student needs, assessments, and IEP goals Qualifications: Valid teaching certification in Special Education Experience teaching high school ELA, preferably with 11th and 12th grade populations Strong knowledge of IEP development and compliance requirements Effective communication and organizational skills Ability to manage a small caseload while providing individualized and group instruction Position Details: Location: Cicero, IL Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:25 AM to 3:30 PM Contract Duration: Start ASAP through June 6th Student Caseload: 8 to 10 students Grades: 11th and 12th grade This role is ideal for an educator passionate about supporting special education students as they prepare for college and beyond.
