Role Overview The Director of eCommerce is responsible for leading the strategy, execution, and growth of the company’s online sales channels. This role owns the end-to-end eCommerce experience—driving revenue, optimizing customer journeys, managing digital platforms, and leading cross-functional/agency teams to deliver best-in-class online performance.
The ideal candidate blends strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, strong analytical skills, and deep knowledge of digital commerce platforms, marketing, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the overall eCommerce strategy aligned with company revenue and brand objectives- both with Amazon.com and Retailer E-Business platforms.
Sole management of the Amazon.com relationship (Sales & Investment strategy)
Own P&L for eCommerce channels, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking
Develop Company D2C Strategy within brand websites.
Identify and capitalize on new growth opportunities, channels, and technologies
Drive customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and value through Omni-channel platforms
Platform & Experience Management
Oversee eCommerce platforms & Company direct brand websites
Optimize site merchandising, product discovery, and checkout performance
Partner with IT, product teams and 3rd party partners on platform enhancements, integrations, and roadmap planning
Ensure site performance, security, scalability, and compliance
Collaborate with marketing teams on SEO, paid media, email, SMS, affiliate, and social commerce strategies
Own online merchandising strategy including product launches, promotions, pricing, and content
Use A/B testing, personalization, and CRO best practices to improve conversion rates
Analytics & Performance
Establish KPIs and dashboards to measure traffic, conversion, AOV, revenue, and customer metrics
Leverage data and insights to inform decisions and continuously improve performance
Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends
Operations & Fulfillment
Partner with operations, supply chain, and customer service teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment and post-purchase experience
Optimize inventory visibility, shipping options, returns, and customer satisfaction
Support international expansion and omnichannel initiatives as applicable
Work cross-functionally with marketing, IT, product, finance, and operations
Manage external agencies, vendors, and technology partners
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, E-commerce, or related field
7–10+ years of eCommerce or digital commerce experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role (extensive experience with Amazon preferred)
Proven track record of driving online revenue growth and conversion optimization
Strong understanding of eCommerce platforms, analytics tools, and digital marketing channels
Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and P&L responsibility
Preferred
MBA or advanced degree
Experience in [B2C / B2B / DTC / Omnichannel] environments
Familiarity with international eCommerce, marketplaces, or subscriptions
