Labor & Employment Paralegal (Contract)
We’re currently seeking a Labor and Employment Paralegal to join an in‑house counsel team in Houston, TX on a 6‑month contract.
Location:
Houston, TX 77055
Duration:
6 months (Contract)
Pay Rate:
$38.00/hr (W2)
Work Schedule
5 days onsite during training
Transition to 4 days onsite at manager’s discretion
Hours:
8:30 AM – 5:30 PM (1‑hour unpaid lunch)
Interview Process:
2 rounds (Virtual + In‑Person)
Responsibilities
Support attorneys on labor & employment matters, including demand letters, discrimination charges, and litigation
Manage discovery by preparing, assembling, and serving requests and responses
Track compliance with discovery demands and court orders
Assist with e‑filing, motions, correspondence, and trial preparation
Maintain accurate case data in ProLaw
Coordinate calendars to meet statutory and court‑ordered deadlines
Conduct legal research and assist with reports and summaries
Strong Microsoft Office skills and excellent customer service
Experience with case management systems (ProLaw preferred)
Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
Self‑motivated and able to work independently under pressure
Education & Experience
3–5 years of paralegal experience preferred (employment law a plus)
Paralegal Certificate or Degree preferred, but not required
