Primary Function The Donor Engagement Specialist is responsible for identifying, soliciting, and stewarding a core group of donors to grow the annual fund, carry out the overall strategic plan, and garner new and continued support for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati. This position is a member of the development team and works closely with the program, finance, and board of trustees to identify funding needs and opportunities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Identify, cultivate, solicit, close, steward, and maintain relationships through in‑person visits, presentations, phone calls, tours, proposals, and other forms of communication.

Develop informative fundraising and marketing materials to showcase the mission and work of BGCGC.

Develop innovative approaches to grow existing giving programs such as monthly giving.

Create and manage direct mail campaigns, newsletters, and other cultivation initiatives as needed.

Coordinate with accounting to ensure proper credit of gifts and pledges received.

Write and present reports for internal and external purposes, including reports on philanthropic giving and progress toward goals, as well as benchmark reports as directed.

Effectively communicate, collaborate, and maintain relationships with constituents and team participants (including volunteers, staff, and vendors).

Compose acknowledgement letters to each donor, update constituent records, prepare reports, and manage the fund‑development database.

Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment Minimal physical effort required to sit, stand, bend, stoop, lift, and walk. Activities may require running and extended periods of standing and walking due to working with youth. Maximum unassisted lift is 50 lbs; average lift is less than 25 lbs. Requires the ability to use a alcuni standard and specialized software and database systems, keyboard, calculator, and typical office machines. Requires travel to other clubs and community agencies for meetings and training events.

Environmental Requirements Inside average office environment; average office noise levels. No personal protective equipment required. Ambient temperature between 68 and 76 degrees Fahrenheit.

Education Requirement Bachelor’s degree

Skills/Knowledge Required

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or related field, or comparable experience in philanthropy, fundraising, and event management.

Two (2) or more years of experience in fundraising or marketing; experience within a non‑profit setting and annual fund experience strongly preferred.

Experience with CRM databases (Salesforce) preferred.

Ability to grasp the landscape within an organization, show passion for working with BGCGC, and expertise in using various communication vehicles that engage staff, volunteers, parents, donors, and the community.

Active driver's license and proof of insurance required.

Must be proficient in computer use, including word processing, Outlook, spreadsheets, and the internet. Must be able to compile information, develop related reports, and have experience with donor database software systems such as Salesforce, Donor Perfect, or Raiser's Edge.

Willingness to subscribe to the principles of the Boys & Girls Clubs movement.

$55,000 – $70,000
