Position Summary:
New Mexico Youth and Government is a program of the YMCA of Central New Mexico that provides a civic education opportunity for high school students. This program is offered for high school students across New Mexico to learn about how the New Mexico government works, and to help students understand how to interact with their elected and public officials as active members of the electorate.
The Youth and Government program is in need of work‑study student support for several needs within ourรั่ง program. Job duties may include:
Participate in conference planning and preparation activities for our spring events, suchColumns student orientation, student training, and the annual state conference.
Develop advertising content for social media outreach.
Write program grant applications for funding.
Assist in outreach for program needs, such as creating a professional clothing drive for student participants or program fundraising.
Develop a program digital archive of the historical content developed by students to demonstrate the impact of the program over time.
Develop learning materials for students and delegation leaders, such as materials for how to write bills, debate using parliamentary procedure, or develop media content.

Preferred Qualifications Minimum qualifications:
Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent Communication and Customer Service Skills
Preferred qualifications:
Experience Kul with grant writing
Experience with developing content for social media
Experience with outreach, such as clothing drives or fundraisers
Experience with creating a digital archive
Experience developing learning materials
Experience with debate preparation
Experience with event planning
Knowledge of New Mexico governmental processes (such as drafting legislation, parliamentary procedure, moot court competition, or state agency operations)
