Off-Campus Work-Study (must have Work Study Award)

This is an off-campus work study position with the LNESC Upward Bound Program at various high schools around Albuquerque, New Mexico. The student will work on a one-to-one or in a group setting to mentor/tutor students grades 9-12 in science and math. Days are Monday through Thursday from 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM. Upward Bound provides tutoring and mentoring services to help the students at Albuquerque high schools succeed in various subjects. The tutor/mentor will assist students with their coursework in mathematics (Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Calculus) and science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) and is expected to act as a mentor and model leadership behaviors for participating students.

Daily Activities and Expectations

Provide structured learning experiences during after-school hours

Assist students with homework

Ensure proper documentation of each session is filled out

Qualifications Preferred:

Student must be able to work in a team, have good communication skills, leadership skills, be motivated, a self-starter, be creative, and have a love for learning.

Requires:

Work-study award for 2025–2026 academic year, ability to pass Albuquerque Public School background check (APS will provide pass/fail result), availability to work one Saturday a month, bilingual preferred.
