The Role:
At Circle City Schools, our support of our scholars and families does not end at graduation. We want to ensure our scholars attend the best fit high school for them and are making informed decisions on where they enroll to ensure they have continued success and opportunities. The
Manager of High School Placement and Alumni Success
is the heart of this work. We are looking for someone who is eager to build strong relationships with families, community organizations and all high schools. This person will have incredible attention to detail and excel at project management. They will think innovatively about this work and build a program that is aligned to our school core values and truly one of a kind. They should be eager to interface with scholars daily, excited to connect with families, and unwavering in their commitment to get 100% of scholars placed in the right fit high school and ensure we are tracking alumni success.
Background on the Organization: Circle City Schools is a small network of schools in Indianapolis, Indiana composed of ACE Prep (K-6) and Circle City Prep (K-8). Both campuses are committed to high expectations paired with high levels of support. We hold a deep belief that all scholars have immense potential and unique strengths. ACE Prep, serving grades K-6 in the Greater Broad Ripple area, was founded in 2016 and boasts a 90%+ IREAD pass rate in SY24 and SY25. While focused on academic rigor, ACE totes a small school environment where each child is seen and cared for. Circle City Prep, serving K-8 scholars on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis, was founded in 2017 and serves 90%+ low‑income and 30%+ multilingual learners. For the last four years, Circle City Prep has been the highest performing public school in its community and focuses on a well‑rounded school experience.
Job Responsibilities: As the
Manager of High School Placement and Alumni Success , you will:
Middle School Education (15%)
Plan and execute high quality “Life After CCP” instruction to all Middle School scholars weekly that focuses on professionalism, socio‑emotional development and life trajectory vision setting. Ultimately, we want to ensure 100% of Circle City Prep scholars graduate from their best‑fit high school in four years on a path to college or a career of choice.
Develop events and activities for scholars to have real life practice of their professional skills and learning (mock interviews, etc.).
Parent and Partner Relationships
Build high quality relationships with scholars and families to ensure they are active, informed partners in the high school placement process.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with high schools within Indianapolis to coordinate the transition of scholars from Circle City Pre to their high school of choice.
Build a network of high school placement, high school enrollment, and college placement colleagues to leverage and support your work.
Establish strong relationships with High School placement partners ensuring diverse (traditional, charter, private, etc.), high quality options are presented to our scholars.
High School Placement (50%)
Survey MS scholars and families consistently to identify interest and knowledge concerning high school preferred choice and placement process.
Coordinate and conduct meetings with 100% of 7th and 8th grade families to identify their wants and needs regarding high school education and transitions.
Coordinate high school tours and shadow days, coordinating with schools, families, scholars, and classroom teachers.
Manage scholar high school enrollment process from start to finish, private and public high schools. This includes placement tests, applications, letters of recommendation, scholarship applications, etc.
Alumni Support (25%)
Actively reach out to alumni scholars and families to survey high school experience and success, relentlessly and creatively approaching this work.
Track high school success and determine hypothesis around “best‑fit” schools.
Ensure 80% of alumni are engaged in Circle City Schools after they graduate.
Additional Duties (10%)
Ensure 100% of Circle City Prep Scholars who can be, are enrolled in the 21st Century Program.
Plan and lead high school graduation.
Other duties as assigned.
Competencies and Skills and Qualifications:
Highly organized and efficient.
Strong communicator and collaborator.
Strong project management skills.
High knowledge of the high school placement process.
Able to problem solve and think creatively about establishing systems and structures for full school.
Has demonstrated ability to manage cross‑functional teams.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, required.
Experience working in a school or child facing non‑profit, required. Experience working in charter school, preferred.
Track record of producing dramatic, demonstrable student achievement gains or comparable results in their current field, required.
Willingness to work occasional weekend or evening work hours, required.
Willingness to drive activity van/bus to and from high school visits and events.
Ability to transport scholars to high school tours in school vehicles.
Pass a criminal background check, as required by law.
