Summary Under limited supervision, is responsible for the engineering, management and support of a complex multi-tiered, interdependent networked infrastructure, focusing on delivering secure, quality system services to the business. Performs security and operational functions, including installation, capacity planning, upgrades, configuration, patch management and backups of vital services to provide high availability, high performance and highly secure service implementations. Ensures systems meet industry standard best practices. Coordinates closely with Facilities and HIT functional teams and users to ensure the best possible user experience.

Responsibilities

Responsible for implementing technology and physical controls needed to protect ANTHC’s information systems and physical environment.

Evaluates system architecture, recommends changes and implements improvements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Coordinates all multi-application or multi-system information and physical security improvement projects.

Collaborates with Human Resources, Facilities, Project Management Security and outside vendors to ensure alignment with business strategies and requirements.

Independently performs assignments and work as the Subject Matter Expert for any maintenance, upgrades, or installation of new and replacement equipment for access control, security cameras, duress alarms, and other safety and security systems as applicable.

Ensures acceptance testing and commissioning protocols are followed to verify accurate operation as designed and compliance with all accreditations, state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards, and protocols.

Facilitates system security compliance activities; implements access controls, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans and tests for readiness.

Responds to allegations of security incidents and conducts investigations, prepares response recommendations, and refers issues that may involve organizational loss, noncompliance or misconduct to Security leadership and Corporate Compliance as appropriate.

Anticipates, mitigates, identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves hardware and software problems on systems by independently completing assignments for routine preventative maintenance, functional testing, communication checks, database integrity checks, backups, and troubleshooting.

Independently completes documents preventive maintenance checklists and monthly dashboard for presentation to supervisor for official reports.

Performs assignments as directed for system programming and configuration; provides written documentation to supervisor to support maintaining accurate system as-built drawings, technical standard operating procedures and all other system operations or integrations.

Proactively oversees security patch management and other technology security update processes; identifies current versus desired patch levels and provides research into available security patches performance issues.

Installs, monitors and manages servers, software and hardware based on operational and security requirements, resolves issues as needed.

Installs system and application updates and performs system backups and recovery. Monitors system configuration and manages log files. Develops user guides, technical procedures and technical architecture documentation.

Designs, installs, and maintains secure card access systems, cameras, and other intrusion prevention systems and the connected servers. Resolves issues related to badge access, security cameras, and related systems, generates usage reports for submission to leadership. Implements efficient and reliable backup and disaster recovery processes. Ability to manage the card access system, AVIGILON NVR’s along with cameras, Bosch, Traka, HUGS infant protection, Aiphone, Visitor management, key management systems, and Procare devices.

Performs and tests system backups and restores to ensure system recovery from error or outage.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education Qualification A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or related field. Progressively responsible professional work-related experience, education, or training may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for college education.

Minimum Experience Qualification Non-supervisory - Five (5) years of progressively complex security system-related experience to include system planning, installation, management and troubleshooting and administration. An equivalent combination of relevant education and/or training may be substituted for experience.

Minimum Certifications

Lenel certification.

AviGilon certification.

Bosch certification.

Preferred Certifications

American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS) board certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification.

National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technology (NICET) Video Security Systems Technician Level III certification.

Door and Hardware Institute (DHI) Electrified Hardware Consultant (EHC) certification.

Building Industry Consulting Service Incorporated (BICSI) Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Design Fundamentals certification.

Preferred Experience Qualification Experience in the Alaska Tribal Health System. Eight years of security system related experience. Experience supporting healthcare infrastructure, including IT infrastructure for electronic security systems strongly preferred. Experience with systems utilized by ANTHC such as Avigilon, Lenel, Traka, Bosch, and HUGS.

May be exposed to hazardous materials, sharp objects and infectious diseases.

Work is performed in a standard office environment and in a study clinic setting.
