Department/Unit Summary
Adult psych unit age 18 and up – 22 beds – have an additional 8 beds as overflow unit
Geri Psych unit age 65 and over – 7 geri beds

Qualifications and Requirements Applicants should have a current state RN license or a current multistate compact license and possess an associate or bachelor‘s degree from an accredited nursing school.
Additional Requirements & Certifications Include
One (1) year experience in a behavioral health care setting preferred.
Current American Heart Association BCLS certification or obtained within three months from date of hire.
Handle With Care Safe Physical Management upon hire.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Language Skills: Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
RN BHU Position Summary
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to: Director of Behavioral Health
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
