A Day in the Life of a Paramedic Paramedics provide swift and effective emergency medical services under various conditions, ensuring patient safety and delivering critical care during transport. Collaboration with healthcare teams is vital, both on-scene and in the emergency department, enhancing patient outcomes. Attention to detail is crucial in maintaining quality control by following protocols and handling equipment both routinely and in complex cases. The work environment demands adaptability and resourcefulness, particularly in emergency and high‑pressure situations. Paramedics also play a key role in training and evaluating new staff, contributing to continuous improvement.

Qualifications Education and Experience Required

American Heart Association ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.

American Heart Association PALS within 4 months of hire (provider or instructor level).

American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Proof of EVOC training in the last 3 years or will complete training within 6 months of hire.

Valid Minnesota Driver's License.

Current Parametric certification from the State of Minnesota OEMS.

Preferred

Previous EMS experience.

Compensation and Benefits The pay range listed is the estimated starting pay range. Actual pay depends on experience, education, certifications, and market conditions.
