The Student Assistant provides key support in bringing a positive attitude and friendly interaction to the Student Affairs Office and those visiting. They provide valuable assistance with the on-site support and organization of the Student Affairs offices through answering questions and assisting guests. The ideal assistant is outgoing and provides valuable insight and suggestions when they have ideas they would like to try. The student is required to work up to 6-10 hours per week during the school year with required availability Monday afternoons from 1-5PM for the Spring 2026 semester. The Student Affairs office is open from 9AM-5PM, Monday through Friday. This position offers an opportunity to better understand the inner workings of the college.
Responsibilities: Greet visitors coming into the Student Affairs suite and answering/returning/forwarding call inquiries in a polite and timely manner. Schedule visitors for an appointment as needed Directing scheduled visitors to the correct office Standard office procedures, such as utilizing knowledge of Canva, Microsoft Office, Teams and Outlook. Filing, photocopying, and aiding the Student Affair’s office staff in a variety of functions, including event coordination and project management. Share suggestions and ideas from a student perspective Keep the reception area neat and clean
Requirements: Must be a full-time student at Ursinus College Must be either a first year, sophomore or junior student Dependable and punctual Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality Be friendly and courteous to all; in person and on the phone Exhibit respect and professionalism Be self-motivated and outgoing personality
Preferred Qualifications: People oriented – you enjoy helping people both in-person and on the phone. Excellent verbal and written communication skills: you love to share your ideas. Ability to show close attention to detail, take initiative, follow directions, meet deadlines and be creative. Proficient in Canva and Microsoft Windows Suite Willingness to learn
