Job Type: Part time.
Essential Duties
Customer Satisfaction:
Greets customers upon entry and thanks them upon exit.
Provides assistance and offers suggestions or recommendations to customers.
Processes all sales accurately on the cash register, handling cash, checks, and other payments.
Operates the fuel console, lottery machines, money order machine, telecom transactions, and other duty stations.
Reports to work on time and follows the dress and appearance code.
Facility Condition:
Performs cleaning duties to maintain store cleanliness inside and out, including equipment upkeep.
Inspects facilities and equipment for safety, cleanliness, and proper operation.
Notifies the Store Manager of any equipment failures or maintenance/supply needs.
Merchandising:
Completes build‑to orders for merchandise purchasing and verifies vendor deliveries.
Maintains adequate stock throughout the store and rotates inventory properly.
Places advertising and pricing signage inside or outside the facility, including marquees, ceilings, walls, and windows.
Sales Controls:
Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels and conduct shift audits.
Financial Controls:
Keeps accurate cash, sales, and inventory control records and reports discrepancies to the Store Manager.
Follows company and/or brand guidelines for product breakage or spoilage.
Security Controls:
Reports all incidents including employee or customer injuries, theft, property damage, or improper sanitation or waste disposal.
Reports any unsafe, unlawful, or unethical conduct.
Administrative:
Maintains accurate record of all shift and timekeeping paperwork.
May conduct inventory of supplies and equipment.
Attends job‑related meetings and may work irregular hours.
Provides reliable on‑site attendance.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Experience in retail sales preferred.
Ability to operate various equipment, including cash registers, scanners, beverage dispensers, and other tools.
Ability to work scheduled shifts and arrive on time.
Strong communication skills.
Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) preferred.
Ability to perform the essential duties and physical functions described below.
Ability to work under the conditions described below.
Physical Requirements
Exposure to temperature extremes (cold or warm) in walk‑in coolers, freezers, and outdoor areas.
Occasional lifting or carrying up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead, and up to 50 pounds from ground to waist.
Ability to reach, grasp, manipulate, push, and pull objects, including using a hand‑truck.
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, squat, stand, and walk throughout the shift.
Ability to work alone and handle noisy environments.
May require climbing a ladder for material storage or signage removal.
Work Environment
Approx. 95% of work is indoors; occasional outdoor tasks such as cleaning parking lots, gas pumps, and garbage removal.
Exposure to extreme cold in walk‑in coolers or freezers.
Exposure to occasional noise.
Operations performed with minimal direction and periodic supervision.
