* Performs complex analysis/projects according to research protocols, explaining methods and procedures to other technicians.* Enters data and maintains current data files on research projects. Monitors data to ensure consistent quality.* Performs biochemical assays using mouse and human retinal tissue, maintaining mouse colonies with specific genetic modifications, and keeping logs of inventories.* May perform preliminary statistical analysis of data.* Organizes and maintains required documentation on lab and/or specimen conditions and develops and summarizes information into usable formats or presentations.* Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.* Assists in the training and development of technicians, acting as a group leader.* Acts as a representative for the PI and ensures procedures and protocols are adhered to consistently and effectively meet department's standard.
