* Conducts research experiments and assays. Performs biochemical assays using mouse and human retinal tissue.* Evaluates research results, reports findings and discusses project outcomes with staff involved.* Maintains mouse colonies with specific genetic modifications.* Performs data entry and maintains required documentation on lab and/or specimen conditions and develops and summarizes information into usable formats or presentations on research.* Coordinates tissue cultures, reagents, probe tests, etc.* Complies with established safety procedures, compliance requirements, and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.* Coordinates research project with other institutions and investigators.* Participates in developing hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it.* Assists with general supply/equipment orders, lab maintenance and cleaning.* Performs literature research on specified topics.* Performs other duties as assigned.* Up to 22 days of vacation, 10 recognized holidays, and sick time.* Competitive health insurance packages with priority appointments and lower copays/coinsurance.* Take advantage of our free Metro transit U-Pass for eligible employees.* WashU provides eligible employees with a defined contribution (403(b)) Retirement Savings Plan, which combines employee contributions and university contributions starting at 7%.* WashU covers the cost of tuition for you and your family, including dependent undergraduate-level college tuition up to 100% at WashU and 40% elsewhere after seven years with us.Washington University in St. Louis' collective success is significantly attributed to the passion and outstanding efforts of our community.
