Job Overview Full‑time position in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Primary duty is a 12‑hour night shift (18:00‑06:30) with required coverage of every third weekend and every third holiday. Cross‑training will be provided to care for postpartum mothers and newborns, as well as patients in the Pediatric department.
Responsibilities
Provide nursing care for newborns admitted to the NICU, including assessments, monitoring, and medication administration.
Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and laboratory personnel to fulfill the patient’s plan of care.
Undertake a rotating night shift schedule, covering assigned third‑weekend and third‑holiday shifts.
Assist in the cross‑training of postpartum and pediatric patients as required.
Qualifications
Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Iowa.
Mandatory BLS and PALS certification.
Required to become NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certified within the first six months of employment.
Must be a mandatory reporter and possess strong communication skills.
Prepared to work nights, third‑weekends, and third‑holidays.
