Responsibilities include assisting with classes and labs, providing general animal care, and maintaining facilities and equipment to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.**Key Responsibilities*** Assist faculty and students during classes, labs, and fieldwork activities.* Provide general animal care, including feeding, handling, training, health checks, breeding, and parturition monitoring.* Maintain and clean facilities, stalls, and equipment.* Record and maintain accurate data and records for demonstrations and student instruction.* Operate basic equipment and vehicles, including animal transportation.* Communicate effectively with co-workers and student employees; may supervise student workers.* Monitor inventory and assist with ordering feed and supplies as needed.* Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.**Minimum Qualifications*** High School diploma or GED.* No prior experience required.**Preferred Qualifications*** 0–2 years of experience in animal care, equine handling, or related agricultural work.## Additional Information:*This job profile is a Farm Coordinator 1 (T1 level) on the career roadmap and is a classified civil service position which will have a 180 probationary period.**The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications*## Location:Apple Creek - Equine Stable (0590)## Position Type:Temporary (Fixed Term)## Scheduled Hours:35## **Shift:**First Shift***Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
