Job Summary
A specialized cardiac sonographer who independently performs echocardiograms in inpatient, outpatient, and off‑site settings, including Transesophageal, Transthoracic, stress echo, 3D, Doppler color, and strain imaging. The exams directly impact patient care.
Responsibilities
Perform high‑level professional quality echocardiograms in all modalities.
Make independent clinical assessments and judgments.
Calibrate and operate equipment, lift and transport patients and equipment.
Assume collaborative relationships, communicate with physicians and allied health professionals.
Prioritize work, effectively resolve problems, react calmly in emergency situations.
Work as a team member and interact with patients and visitors with respect and dignity.
Qualifications
Completion of an accredited Sonography program or one year of full‑time cardiac echocardiography experience, approved Echo trainee program, or Summa Sonographer Intern requirements.
Registered in field of experience (RVS, RVT, RDMS, RCS, RDCS).
Basic Life Support.
For a weekend position: three (3) years of experience with stress testing.
Ability to lift and transport patients and equipment; heavy physical demands: 50‑100 pounds force occasionally, 25‑50 pounds force frequently.
Strong communication, professional judgment, and technical proficiency.
Salary $36.83/hr – $44.20/hr
