Job Description Who We Are The School of Engineering Medicine in collaboration with Texas A&M College of Engineering, Texas A&M School of Medicine, and the state’s top‑ranked Houston Methodist Hospital offer an innovative medical school program called ENMED. The program was established to transform healthcare through translational interdisciplinary research, the development of medical technologies, and the training of “Physicianeers.” ENMED delivers a revolutionary blended curriculum with a focus on innovation and entrepreneurship where students receive a Doctor of Medicine and Master of Engineering degree in the same four years.
What We Want The
Postdoctoral Research Associate
will bioengineer novel solutions for the systemic or local delivery of mRNA therapeutics. The program seeks to generate novel RNA nanomedicines and effective RNA delivery systems in the Center for Cardiovascular Regeneration at Houston Methodist Research Institute.

Required Education And Experience
PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in quantitative sciences and engineering but also a background in RNA biology, biochemistry or cell biology.
One year of postdoctoral experience is preferable.
Training in molecular biology, genetics or biochemistry.
Responsibilities
Conduct research to develop novel therapeutics delivery systems, including mRNA electroporation, microfluidic channel membrane modulation, focused ultrasound, and lipid nanoparticles.
Generate novel RNA nanomedicines and effective RNA delivery systems.
Collect, compile, and analyze data; document and interpret experiment results; report to the Principal Investigator; assist in preparing and presenting completed analyses.
Prepare data from charts, figures, and manuscripts for papers, meetings, publications, and journals.
Create slides for presentations at scientific conferences and meetings; use applicable software to create databases, perform statistical analysis, and present data.
Operate instrumentation needed for projects and compile data; record observations and measurements.
Coordinate with the Principal Investigator to write and present scientific papers, grant proposals, and manuscripts for publication.
Participate in joint projects involving faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and technicians.
Attend weekly lab meetings with the center and other departments; perform other duties as assigned.
