PROJECTS COORDINATOR ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER III
The Maryland Department of Disabilities (MDOD) is seeking a Projects Coordinator for the Telecommunications Access of Maryland (TAM). TAM provides equipment and services for Marylanders who have difficulty using a telephone. TAM administers both Maryland Relay, the free public service that allows people who are unable to use a standard telephone to make and receive calls, and the Maryland Accessible Telecommunications (MAT) program, which distributes State‑provided assistive telecommunications equipment to qualified applicants.
This position is eligible for telework and is limited to current employees of the Maryland Department of Disabilities.

Position Duties This position provides executive‑level administrative support, front‑desk coverage, project coordination, and content development for the Telecommunications Access of Maryland (TAM). The incumbent supports special projects such as office relocations, program implementation, training material development, and leads the creation of digital and print content that promotes MAT, Maryland Relay, and related TAM programs.
Front Desk and Secretarial Support
Provide front‑desk coverage by monitoring the office entrance, answering telephones, admitting and welcoming staff and authorized visitors.
Schedule appointments and meetings for the supervisor and designated TAM staff, resolving basic calendar conflicts and confirming details.
Act as an intermediary for the supervisor, maintaining contact with constituents, professional staff, community partners, and local organizations; triage inquiries and determine which require supervisor attention.
Open, sort, read (as needed), and distribute incoming correspondence, emails, and messages to appropriate staff, flagging time‑sensitive items.
Prepare correspondence, meeting საერთო, minutes and other documents.
Program and Project Coordinator
Provide project‑specific assistance to the Director, including scheduling meetings and fielding inquiries from external actors or other state partners.
Support implementation of new and existing TAM programs and procedures, tracking timelines, tasks, and deliverables.
Assist in planning and overseeing the disposal of surplus property in accordance with DGS and agency procedures, including inventory management, packing, labeling, and disposal of furniture and electronics.
Content Creation
Produce social media posts, short‑form videos, training videos or tutorials, FAQs, graphics, and other outreach materials.
Script, film, andής edit social media and training videos, ensuring appropriate use of captions, plain language, and other accessibility features.Design graphics for use on social media, the web, presentations, and print materials following TAM branding and accessibility standards.
Draft and update FAQs, how‑to guides, and simple training materials for the website, presentations, and outreach events.
Outreach Support
Collaborate with the Outreach sht Manager and supervisor to plan and maintain a content calendar for social media, web content, and other communication channels.
Identify new content needs based on common questions, emerging issues, or new program offerings.
Maintain a schedule of all ongoing meeting times and dates for local disability advocacy organizations and community groups.
Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems for projects and communications records.
Assist with simple data tracking and reporting related to projects, outreach activities, and content performance.
Support logistics for outreach events and trainings, including preparing materials, coordinating registrations, and sharing event information through TAM channels.
Universal Service Trust Fund Monitoring
Update spreadsheet tracking Universal Service Trust Fund payments from Maryland‑based telecommunications carriers.
Identify missing or inaccurate remittances and follow up for remedy.
Communicate with carriers as needed regarding changes to the Universal Service Fee.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
Three years of administrative staff or professional work experience.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications
Experience performing administrative or program support work involving greeting visitors, scheduling, data entry, filing, or mail processingawesome.
Experience coordinating meetings, including scheduling, invitations, and basic logistics.
Experience creating basic digital content such as short videos, social media posts, flyers, FAQs, longer tutorials, graphics, credito.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, and comfort using spreadsheets for simple tracking. == /ul> Limitations on Selection This position is limited to current employees of the Maryland Department of Disabilities. Employees may be assigned duties requiring operation of a motor vehicle and will be required to possess a valid Maryland operator’s license if so.
