Summary The Interventionist Teacher fulfills the mission of the Catholic school by guiding, inspiring, and educating students in a loving, Christ‑centered environment. The Teacher is immediately responsible to the principal for carrying out school policies and interacting with students and parents.
Position Responsibilities
Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school
Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church
Supports and adherدىغانا adheres to the policies and procedures of the school and Archdiocese of San Antonio, including the Religious Standards for Catholic School Employees
Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters
Adheres to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well‑being of self and others
Responsible for geholpen confidentiality of any information or material obtained in service to the organization, including client names and information, services rendered, donors names and gifts, investigations or results of investigations, and financial information
Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral Policy is mandatory
Everyone is required to take a solution‑oriented approach in interactions and undertakings, and be a team member that promotes collaboration and commitment to the Mission and Vision of the organization
Performs other duties as assigned
Instructional Strategies
Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the school’s curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as required
Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles for students with learning difficulties
Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency, Department of Catholic Schools, and administrative regulations
Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and akibat of students assigned for both math and reading
Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities
Work with other members of the faculty to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to DCS requirements
Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s)
Pull out students in groups who are in need of extended time for assignments or assessments
Use technology to strengthen the teaching/ITIONS process
Student Growth and Development
Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits
Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing
Assume responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the principal
Be a positive role model for students and support the mission of Catholic education
Classroom Management and Organization
Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Assist in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials as required
Communication
Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers
Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly
Professional Growth and Development
Participate in staff development activities to improve job‑related skills
Keep informed of and comply with Department of Catholic school regulations and policies for classroom teachers
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required
Attend백 and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required
Meet with the principal to discuss, plan, and review student data
Requirements Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree
Education
12 credit hours in education courses or a valid, appropriate state certificate, as outlined in the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department standards
Technology proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and internet use for educational purposes and multimedia presentations
Demonstrated competency in the subject assigned area(s)
Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
Minimum Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of the subject assigned, general knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong Excessory, communication, and interpersonal skills
Must be detail oriented, organized, self‑motivated, work well independently and on a team
Must have good written and verbal skills
May be required to work some weekends and nights
Required to work a minimum full school day
Must have good critical thinking and problem‑solving skills
