As a Field Supervisor, you will lead and mentor a team of maintenance staff, providing hands-on guidance for operations and maintenance activities. These tasks focus on maintaining and improving Flood Control District dams, levees, channels, drains, basins, and structures across Maricopa County. This defined retirement benefit requires a 12% monthly contribution rate and includes a 100% employer match on Day 1* Learn more at**We Require*** Three years of experience in skilled construction or maintenance* High school diploma or GED**Other Requirements*** Successful candidates must currently possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire* Must possess or be able to obtain the Right of Way Pesticide License through the Department of Agriculture within six months of hire**We Also Value*** Two years of lead or supervisory experience* Three years of work experience operating trucks and heavy equipment* A valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite**Job Contributions*** Provide day-to-day supervision of a small team, including assigning work, training, scheduling, approving time off, completing performance evaluations, and administering disciplinary action when necessary* Plan, prioritize, and assign work to meet project needs and schedules; assure completion of work orders to meet Division standards, and ensure that all safety rules and regulations are observed on the job site* Monitor and enforce adherence to Division policies, procedures, and standards; ensure all safety rules and regulations are observed on the job site, and instruct employees in the proper use and maintenance of shop equipment* Prepare daily activity, material, and equipment usage reports* Read and interpret blueprints, detailed drawings, schematics, and maps. Inspect roadways and structures* Perform Arizona 811 Utility Locate duties as assigned, which will require working on-call nights and weekends on a rotating schedule**Working Conditions*** This position requires the employee to be in the office/field or customer-facing for all hours worked* Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 10 - 25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 - 20 pounds constantly* Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration* Incumbent may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, and travel* The work will occur in an office and field environment. While performing the duties and responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations.
