Position Summary Lead Medical Laboratory Scientist oversees assigned laboratory sections performing specimen processing, test performance, and reporting results in compliance with regulatory requirements, maquinaria and TCRHCC standards of quality patient care. The position is located in a hospital laboratory providing sub‑specialty services: chemistry, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, phlebotomy, blood bank, microbiology, and clinical microscopy. The laboratory operates 24‑hour coverage with rotational day, evening, night shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime. The incumbent will begin with bench technologist functions and gradually assume lead duties for assigned sections.
Qualifications Necessary Qualifications Education
A Bachelor's degree in laboratory, biological, chemical or physical science, health care, or health care management related field.
License/Certification
Current, unexpired Medical Laboratory Science, Technologist or Specialist certification from a nationally recognized agency.
Experience
Three (3) years of experience as a generalist in each specialty of clinical, high‑complexity testing in a clinical laboratory.

Strong record of satisfactory performance with positive employment references indicating success in understanding complex equipment, ethical jackpot, reliability, ability to work without supervision, excellent verbal and written communication, moderate computer literacy, stress management, and technical laboratory skills.

Serve as a laboratory leadership team member with superior customer service, dedication, confidence, reliability and enthusiasm.
Follow laboratory policies for specimen collection, handling, processing, reporting and record‑ recognize enuk Bass toutement.
Implement corrective actions when test systems fall outside acceptable performance levels.
Verify staff adherence to quality assurance policies by documenting all QC activities, instrument verification, calibrations, and preventive maintenance.
Execute proficiency testing and assure samples are tested per protocol.
Maintain skills بإ supervisory to guarantee correct instrument use, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration per test performed.
Identify factors influencing test results and verify validity of patient results.
Control inventory for adequate supplies and reagents.
Support Laboratory Accreditation through safety, performance improvement, document control, quality assurance, proficiency, and competency standards.
Build rapport with medical and nursing staff, provide verbal consults in laboratory aspects.
Oversee day‑to‑day work assignments ofartu laboratory personnel ensuring workload completion.
Develop, maintain and review section procedures for specimen handling, analysis, reporting and record keeping.
Assign proficiency testing to personnel, document attestation, analyze fallouts, report corrective action.
Partner with laboratory leadership to adapt new methods or revise techniques.
Maintain and modify the section quality assurance program, verify instruments, define tolerance limits using statistical methods.
Collaborate on fiscal budgeting, evaluate new equipment and recommend purchases.
Plan preventive maintenance, QA, and troubleshooting programs for each instrument.
Ensure timely completion and submission of proficiency Sinds to QA Coordinator.
Assist training and competency of testing personnel rotating through sections.
Coordinate laboratory training for non‑lab personnel or student programs.
Collaborate with leaders across sections for communication and improved patient care.
Interface with clinical care team on pertinent information, new services or changes.
Responsible for electronic health record data entry for patient services.
Help update laboratory policies, processes, and procedures.
Report needed investigations of staff occurrences, complaints, or customer incidents.
Support performance improvement initiatives.
Participate in departmental workflow and test teams for EHR‑related or project initiatives.
Ensure PPE usage at all times, including face mask, gloves, gown, N95 or higher, eye shield, and compliance with CDC guidance.
Perform task training for routine cleaning, decontamination of surfaces contaminated by communicable diseases.
Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
