Responsibilities
Directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients admitted with nonsurgical (medical) and surgical conditions.
Communicate with physicians about changes in the patients’ clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.
Outstanding observation and assessment skills.
Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment.
Skilled in recording symptoms, reactions, and progress.
Administer medical treatments and examinations.
Develop, plan, implement, evaluate, document, and manage nursing care.
Direct and guide the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Medical/Surgical unit.
Work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness.
Provide health education for patients, families, and communities.
Qualifications
Current and valid state RN license.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current (preferred).
Previous acute‑care hospital experience preferred.
Ventilator management experience preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
