Job Description: The School of Art and Art History seeks a UF student with a Federal Work Study award to assist in maintaining the wood shop and metal shop. The successful candidate will have availability during regular business hours and previous experience with wood and/or metal sculpting.
Responsibilities
Monitor student artists’ safe use of equipment and intervene when unsafe uses occur.
Advise students on safe use of equipment.
Check woodworking and metalworking tools in and out to students.
Clean the machines, tables, and floors as needed.
Clean and organize tool and material storage areas.
Assist in minor maintenance of equipment as instructed by Teaching Lab Specialists.

Required Qualifications:
Federal Work Study award required [see below for instructions to upload certificate].
Applicants must be able to lift fifty pounds on a regular basis.
Availability to work up to 10 hours/week (maximum). Hours are flexible, but days Wednesday‑through‑Friday प्रश्न. Weekly schedule based on school staffing needs (a set schedule will be provided whenever possible).
Preferred
Previous wood and/or metal working experience.
Understanding of basic power tools (drills, saws, sanders, etc.).
Experience using hand tools such as saws, chisels, carving tools.
