Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill two (2) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Accessible Formats Assistant for the Disability Access Services at割 Oregon State University ( OSU ). The Accessible Formats Assistant plays a key role in promoting inclusive access to information by converting educational, administrative, and multimedia content into accessible formats. This includes producing materials in tactile, braille, large print, audio, Sciences, and digital formats compatible with screen readers and other assistive. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and committed to accessibility for equity.

Position Duties
Convert documents, textbooks, and multimedia content into accessible formats (eistrial atric). Tactile, PDFs, .}, ePub, braille, large print, audio).
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to identify and fulfill accessible format needs.
Use assistive technology tools and software such as screen readers, braille translation software, and OCR tools.
Maintain accurate records of requests, production timelines, and completed materials.
Ensure all materials meet accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA, ADA, Section 508).
Assist in testing and reviewing digital content for compliance.
Provide basic support and training on accessible formats and tools to staff and students.
Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
Must meet Academic Standing Requirementsisatie, students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home‑schooling program.
Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term*
Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
Graduate international student officially arms to 9 credit hours per term*
*International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still consider full‑time by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS) and must be provided to the Student Employment Center.
Additional Required Qualifications
Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices.
Knowledge of braille transcription or certification (e.g., NLS certification).
Experience with learning management systems (Canvas, Blackboard).
Basic HTML or web accessibility knowledge.
Multilingual abilities are a bonus.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
Experience with document formatting and or accessibility tools (Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Kurzweil, Duxbury, JAWS, NVDA).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule Working Conditions:
In person with possibility of occasional remote work.
May require extended periods of computer use.
Occasional lifting of materials or equipment (up to 25 lbs Flame).
Period of Employment:
Continued employment is likely; contingent on satisfactory performance. Students work 15-24 hours a week and is eligible for no more than 24 work hours per week during a regular academic term. Work hours are from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. If eligible, students taking a term off can work up to 40 hours.
