Mechanical Engineer
Actalent is hiring a full remote mechanical engineer. Must be comfortable working in all areas of mechanical engineering. Position offers full time benefits and PTO. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work independently on the creation of complex cable and interconnect assemblies and drawings. You will analyze these designs to ensure they meet system‑level design requirements and collaborate closely with engineers and technicians from various disciplines.
Responsibilities
This is not a pure design role. We need a Mechanical Engineer who is a jack of all trades. Cradle to grave, an engineer who can be given any task and challenge, and be able to complete without very little guidance**
Work independently within a team structure in the creation of complex mechanical drawings, parts, and assemblies
Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians from multiple disciplines to develop and test mechanical designs for both our prototyping and manufacturing businesses
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 or more years of mechanical design experience
Must be eligible to receive a US Secret Clearance (Clearance not needed for the position)
Exposure to configuration management (CM) and design control practices
Knowledge of electro‑mechanical design, writing specifications, developing test procedures and close tolerance requirements
Exposure to material selection and construction methods
Understand thermal and structural principles
Experience with SolidWorks, both 3‑D modeling and 2‑D drawings is preferred
Exposure to American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) Y14 and Geometric Dimensioning is preferred
Electronic Packaging experience is preferred
Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of North Syracuse, NY.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 – $60.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
