Job Title:Staff Brewer FLSA Status:Non-Exempt Reports To:Head Brewer Pay Range: Starting at $19/hr + Monthly Tip pool wages General Summary: WeldWerks Brewing is locally owned, and operated craft brewery in historic downtown Greeley, Colorado. We execute our unique and original product line with the highest quality ingredients, a state-of-the-art brewing system, and the latest brewing practices. We strive to create meaningful relationships and memorable experiences with adventurous craft beverages from our taproom in Greeley and through our expansive distribution network.
As our Staff Brewer, you will be responsible for: Performing all duties related to wort production and green beer cellaring:
Wort production from milling to knock out
Tank CIPs and SIPs
Fermentation management
Dry hopping, fruit/adjunct additions
Operation of filter, centrifuge, and flash pasteurizer
Transferring finished beer to brite tanks
Executing on all procedures with attention to detail:
Maintain batch documentation and record keeping (Ekos, cellar travelers, etc.)
Raw material receiving and inventory management
Assist with barrel-related processes as needed
Maintain a safe and sanitary workspace
Provide training for others based on areas of expertise
Thinking critically:
Develop a strong understanding of brewing equipment and be able to operate, troubleshoot and maintain
Assist with creation of new SOPs and improve on existing SOPs
Follow all company safety and quality procedures
Perform in-process and post-packaging sensory evaluation and participate in sensory panels as needed
Details about our ideal candidate: Skill and Knowledge:
Strong knowledge of and a passion for craft beer and the brewing industry
Strong understanding of maintenance needs of production equipment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professional brewing or similar manufacturing experience preferred
Personal Competencies:
Remain calm under pressure or when dealing with unexpected production delays or changes
Be a strong and trusting team player
Maintain relationships with coworkers, vendors and other breweries
Strong work ethic and can do attitude
Critical Thinking/Problem Solving:
Duties are given in the form of broad goals or areas of responsibility, the employee must be able to use independent action in setting objectives and deciding how to proceed and to stay busy through slow periods
Hours, Travel, and Physical Requirements:
Must be 21 years old
Night and weekend availability is required
Must be able to request time off two weeks in advance
Work in a standing position for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to work in heat, and cold and wet conditions
Physically able and willing to drive a forklift with training
Must be able to work from elevated surfaces
