Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing complex accounting functions, including maintaining general ledger accounts, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and accounting standards. This role requires advanced knowledge of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. The Senior Accountant may also oversee junior accounting staff and collaborate cross‑functionally to support financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
Perform variance analysis to identify and explain discrepancies
Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections
Prepare and file tax returns and other required regulatory documents
Coordinate and support internal and external audits
Implement, maintain, and improve accounting systems and procedures
Train and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and oversight
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather financial data and provide insights
Stay current on changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field/CPA preferred
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
