THE MUSEUM’S MISSION The Britannia Mine Museum is a self‑sustaining, non‑profit organization that creates accessible learning experiences to inspire discovery and connection through guided interpretive programming, self‑exploration opportunities, and the preservation of our historical site and artifacts.
The Museum is located on the ancestral and unceded territory of the Squamish Nation.
THE ROLE The Digital Marketing Specialist (website & social media) is part of the Museum Sales and Marketing Team. This role is responsible for planning, creating, and executing digital content that increases awareness of the Museum’s mission and engages the broader community. Additionally, this role supports specific projects pertaining to the museum’s marketing campaigns, social media presence, and marketing performance data analysis. This role reports directly to the Sales and Marketing Manager and collaborates across departments and teams to deliver content excellence. It assumes that the digital media landscape changes at a rapid pace and will support the Sales & Marketing Team by monitoring sector changes and pivoting accordingly. This is a regular, full‑time role with a schedule that may include some weekends and statutory holidays as required. This role works within the guidelines established for all employees with regard to conduct and health and safety.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 1) Social Media Development
Plan, create, schedule, and publish content for the Museum across numerous platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok).
Monitor all comments and messages and engage with followers in a timely, respectful manner.
Grow audience reach and engagement aligned with organizational goals.
Stay current with platform trends and best practice.
Monitor, engage, and optimize community interactions across all platforms through active interaction capitalizing on trending, algorithms.
Stay informed on social media trends and emerging platforms to recommend and implement new strategies.
2) Content Creation and Asset Management
Create compelling, high‑quality content, including posts and videos that align with the Museum’s overall strategic plan, mission, and vision.
Ensure that content complies with organizational values by reviewing content with the Manager of Sales & Marketing and 클래스 with the Leadership Circle as required.
Maintain and enhance a unified brand voice across all channels.
Write and edit copy for social media posts and newsletters.
Plan and lead photo and video shoots, including planning, shooting and editing (as needed and as resources allow).
Organize and maintain the storage of the Museum’s digital assets for both internal and external use.
3) Website Management/SEO
Keep the Museum’s website up to date with correct, current information.
Monitor website traffic as part of analytics across other platforms.
Work closely with team members to ensure website SEO.
Work cross‑functionally with the Guest Experience team to ensure smooth and clear communications with all external participants, guests, and the broader audience.
4) Analytics and Reporting
Analyze performance metrics and refine strategies for continuous improvement.
Prepare regular reports with insights and recommendations.
Use data to demonstrate and improve campaign effectiveness.
Participate in developing and leveraging appropriate AI technology compliant with privacy legislation and other regulatory requirements.
5) Digital Marketing Support and Communications uas Collaborate with the full sales and marketing team to develop and execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels for the purposes of promoting programs, events, exhibits, and initiatives.
Contribute to email marketing efforts, including crafting newsletters, managing campaigns, and maintaining subscriber lists.
Perform website updates, including creating and editing pages and basic SEO optimization.
Engage in digital advertising and search engine marketing initiatives.
Implement online campaigns to drive traffic, increase conversions, and achieve organizational goals.
6) Community Engagement
Monitor the Museum’s Google Ads Grant to ensure highest ranking is maintained.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal team members and external partners (as defined by the Manager of Sales & Marketing).
Be a brand ambassador for the Museum and its voice.
Conduct a regular review of similar organizations and organizations within the Sea to Sky Corridor to provide enhancements.

An interest in history, geology, education, mining, environmental issues, customer experience, and/or tourism is highly valued.
Ability to scale social media platforms and content to the Museum’s requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and customers.
QUALIFICATIONS Educational Background
Graduate of a diploma or degree program in marketing, digital marketing, communications, or a related field.
Experience
1‑3 years of experience with social media tools and platforms, creating content, and utilizing analytics tools to measure and report on campaignbinder performance.
Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or similar).
Experience with Meta Business Suite or similar.
Understanding of general marketing principles, including campaign planning, branding, and digital marketing strategies.
Understanding of inclusive, ethical, and accessible communications.
Previous work in the tourism, arts & culture, or non‑profit sector is considered an asset.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Museum offers free parking and staff discounts on food and merchandise.
The Museum employees abide by the Museum’s Code of Conduct.
Reliable transportation to and from the work site is required, as public transit is not available to Britannia Beach.
