With more than 650 professionals across Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, and Alabama, we deliver integrated planning, design, engineering, and construction solutions. We are expanding our Transportation Team in Michigan and are seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer & Office Lead to take charge of roadway and utility design projects in a fully 3D digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of transportation design plans and 3D models
for local agency and municipal utility projects.
Perform and review design calculations
to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Prepare design packages
for milestone client submittals, including estimates, special provisions, and RID packages.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship
to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing team.
Support MDOT projects
as needed, applying similar expertise and leadership.
Oversee and manage a team of seven designers , ensuring successful project delivery and professional development.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor’s degree
in civil engineering.
12–15 years of experience working with MDOT transportation and local agency.
Michigan PE with the ability to become registered in other states.
Knowledge of OpenRoads ORD design software is required; AutoCAD/Civil3D is a plus.
Experience working as a PM.
Desire and ability to manage a team.
