StarFish Medical is seeking a Vice President, Business Development, to sell outsourced medical device design, development, and manufacturing services to MedTech companies within a defined North American territory. This role is designed for a senior business development leader with direct experience selling engineering consulting or product development services, not finished medical devices or platforms. You will work with venture‑backed start‑ups and global medical device companies that require an external development partner to move from concept through commercialization. As a consultative seller, you will lead complex, scope‑based sales cycles, qualify ambiguous technical opportunities, and collaborate closely with StarFish’s engineering and program teams to shape well‑defined development programs that are ready to launch. Success in this position depends on the ability to sell custom, project‑based development services in a consulting environment. This is not a product sales role. Location:

Senior Vice President, Business Development What You’ll Do

Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified medical device development opportunities. Consistently meet or exceed annual revenue targets within your territory. Identify and engage prospective clients seeking outsourced medical device design and development services. Lead consultative discovery conversations to assess technical, commercial, and strategic fit. Develop tailored proposals in collaboration with engineering and program teams. Maintain trusted, long‑term relationships with clients throughout the sales cycle and beyond. Represent StarFish at conferences, trade shows, and industry networking events. Collaborate with Marketing to support regional demand‑generation initiatives. Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reporting.Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified medical device development opportunities. What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field. 10+ years of business development experience, including multiple years selling engineering consulting or outsourced product development services. Strong technical acumen and ability to communicate complex development concepts. Proven ability to close consulting services or complex solution‑based sales. Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills. High emotional intelligence (EQ) and a relationship‑first approach to selling. Proven Experience selling engineering consulting or outsourced product development services. Familiarity with medical device regulatory requirements (FDA, ISO 13485, IEC 60601). Base Salary + Commission. Base salary may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
