Key Account Manager I – Amcor

Job Responsibilities

Provide tactical sales direction and communication strategies to defend existing business and gain new business for one of Amcor’s key accounts.

Geographic scope: National or international North American region depending on account.

Annual sales: $30 million or less.

Unlock 10%+ share of wallet growth annually.

Own the key account and align Amcor’s values of safety, collaboration, accountability and results into all aspects of the role.

Support execution of account strategy as directed by leadership to maintain share of wallet and profitability.

Manage account complexities to meet customer requirements and anticipate future needs.

Assist in key business negotiations to support Amcor’s interests and demonstrate influence.

Learn about Amcor products, the industry and competitive market.

Deliver profitable year‑over‑year sales growth for the assigned territory.

Relationship Management

Build relationships with customers based on trust and respect.

Build cross‑functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support share of wallet growth and commercialization.

Ensure contractual commitments are met, including inventory management and service key performance indicators.

Network externally with key influencers, co‑packers, machine suppliers and industry associations.

Stakeholder Engagements

Coordinate Sales Management, R&D, Marketing and Field Service to support validation and customer trials.

Manage accounts receivable with assistance from the credit department.

Collaborate with Strategic Marketing to understand strategic unmet customer needs.

Implement defined technology, product, commercial strategy for the market and targeted segments.

Reporting

Report current performance achievements in sales and marketing to the business unit for monthly management reporting.

Drive forecast accuracy for improved business results.

Manage account planning, pipeline management, profitability improvements and churn management in the CRM tool.

What We Want From You

Bachelor’s degree.

2+ years of sales or technical experience, preferably within the packaging industry.

Ability to travel domestically & internationally 60% of time.

Compensation The starting salary is expected to be between $98,000 and $122,500, with base pay offered varying within the full salary range $98,000 to $147,000 depending on job‑related knowledge, skills and experience. Position may also be eligible for Amcor’s Management Incentive Plan / Sales Incentive Plan, which is an annual bonus program based on business and individual performance, and includes medical coverage and other health and welfare benefits.
