Installing tooling: This involves assembling, setting up, and troubleshooting tooling, such as die cavities, upper and lower punches, amplifying necessary core rods, into the press.

Skills Required

Must be familiar with a Cincinnati 550‑ton press.

Perform PMs as required.

Keep tools and supplies organized according to shop‑floor criteria.

Operate the press.

Adjust press settings – pressure, compaction speed, dwell time – to achieve desired density and dimensions.

Inspect parts to ensure dimensions, weights, and density meet specifications.

Review parts processed after the delube oven to make necessary adjustments.

Diagnose and resolve problems during compaction or delube oven; stop production for nonconforming or suspect product.

Maintain production records: quantity, scrap, suspect material, issues, and adjustments.

Complete survey sheets for tooling used.

Assist in sorting and rework of discrepant preforms/forgings.

Perform daily 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).

Tap & go on shift change.

Participate in maintenance activities.

Contribute to improvement suggestions or projects.

Experience Required

Shift flexible, including weekends as required.

Powder metal experience mandatory.

Analytical skills.

Powder metal compacting (5+ years preferred).

ersonal manufacturing experience in metal forging preferred.

Hands‑on experience with mechanical/hydraulic presses (Cincinnati 550) for powdered metal compacting.

Hands‑on Europe's troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

Knowledge of forging presses, die setup, material flow, and robot knowledge.

Familiarity with metallurgical properties of ferrous/non‑ferrous powders and forgings.

Blueprint reading and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Quality inspection tools: micrometers, hardness testers, CMM.

Education Required

High School or GED equivalent.

Additional Information

This is a 6‑month contract‑to‑hire role, which entirely depends on performance and business needs.

Second shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM.

Powder metal experience mandatory for this role.

As this is a second‑shift role, the $1 shift differential is already included in the NTE rate.
