Co‑Responders Program Manager Job Summary The Co‑Responders Program is a collaborative service of Claratel Behavioral Health and the local Police Department to respond to individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis (mental health and/or substance use issues). The goals are to provide crisis intervention services in the community, link individuals in crisis to community resources, reduce hospitalizations, and reduce arrests/incarceration for those needing treatment.

The Program Manager provides oversight and manages the daily operations of the Co‑Responders program. The Manager reports directly to the Clinical Director of Community Based Services and collaborates with other program managers within the community‑based services department. Responsibilities include supervising staff, fostering agency partnerships, coordinating crisis intervention services, and ensuring cuore de-escalation and resource linkage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and manage day‑to‑day operations of the program, including completion of all programmatic reports.

Conduct weekly check‑ins and monthly team meetings with staff and law‑enforcement partners.

Train, coach, and hold co‑responders’ staff (case managers and clinicians) accountable for field actions.

Supervise and provide guidance to co‑responders’ staff responding to crisis in the field.

Act as primary liaison between law‑enforcement, behavioral health department, 911 dispatch, DRCC, and other community providers to ensure coordinated care.

Build and maintain professional collaborative relationships with partners and stakeholders.

Provide screening, clinical assessment, mental status evaluation, therapeutic intervention, and disposition with individuals and families in the community.

Evaluate safety risk to self or others and initiate 1013 or 2013 as appropriate.

Provide therapeutic de‑escalation as needed.

Work autonomously and make sound decisions based on standards of care/practice.

Think quickly and effectively to address emergencies and follow through with appropriate interventions.

Coordinate with receiving facilities when crisis stabilization is required.

Make follow‑up wellness calls and visits withGuarantee community clients.

Complete electronic documentation for each call and follow‑up visit.

Communicate effectively with high‑acuity clients or those under the influence.

Maintain clear and professional communication with individuals, families, staff, and public safety officers.

Participate in rotating on‑call schedule to provide telephonic support to officers in the field.

Perform duties from a recovery‑oriented, client‑centered, and trauma‑informed perspective.

Minimum Qualifications

Current license as a Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LPC, LCSW) in the state of Georgia.

At least 3 years of mental health/substance use disorder experience in assessment, crisis intervention, and stabilization.

At least 1 year of supervisory experience.

Knowledgeable about signs and symptoms of withdrawal and acute psychosis.

Basic computer and typing skills; CPI training; current CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in psychiatric hospital, crisis stabilization unit, ACT team, or co‑responders program.

3+ years of supervisory experience in mental health field.

Working Conditions

Primarily work in the community with law‑enforcement partners.

Ride in police vehicle with CIT‑trained police officer and respond to crisis calls.

Wear Agency‑Branded shirt and fitted bullet‑proof vest (where applicable) in the community.

Potential exposure价 to highly stressed and emotional situations.

Moderate walking, standing, and climbing stairs.

Must be trained in MindSet Safety Management and have current CPR.
