Forensic Mental Health Clinician – UCHC GSYCF University Correctional Health Care (UCHC), operating within Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, seeks a Forensic Mental Health Clinician for the Garden State Youth Correctional Facility (GSYCF) in Yardville, NJ. The role reports to the Clinician Supervisor and involves specialized psychological testing and assessment of clinical needs of adult inmates sentenced to the Department of Corrections.

Posting Summary The Forensic Mental Health Clinician will complete specialized psychological testing and conduct assessments of the clinical needs of adult inmates. Key duties include:

Arriving at DSM‑IV diagnoses with precision and accuracy through psychological testing and evaluation sessions.

Involving inmates and Department of Corrections staff in developing achievable and understandable psychosocial treatment plans.

Advocating for appropriate resources for inmates based on assessed needs.

Managing caseload demands effectively while balancing quality of care with security requirements.

Assuming overall case management responsibilities for assigned inmates, including coordination of treatment and liaison with community agencies; maintaining appropriate inmate records.

Demonstrating competency in psychological testing and recognizing the unique needs and behaviors of adult inmates and seniors.

Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience:

Ph.D., Psy.D., or్డుEd.D. in Psychology with relevant experience that includes training in psychological testing and at least two (2) years of experience, including graduate training, working in a behavioral health care or related setting.

Certifications / Licenses

Licensed in the State of New Jersey as a practicing Psychologist or possessing an unrestricted permitFormato. equal ; permissible for.

license to practice psychology in New Jersey (-The Board of Psychological Examiners).

Valid driver’s license. Must possess own vehicle to travel between sites.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proficiency in DSM‑IV diagnostic procedures.

Ability to conduct and interpret a broad range of psychometric assessments.

Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with inmates and correctional staff.

Capacity to develop and monitor treatment plans within a secure environment.

Limit strong confidentiality and compliance with institutional policies.

Preferred Qualifications Experience working with youth or individuals under judicial supervision and familiarity with correctional health care protocols.

Salary Grade 28S Minimum Salary: $91,001

Mid‑Range Salary: $111,630

Maximum Salary: $131,265
