Registered Nurse - Post Surgical Ortho - 36 Hours - Midnights
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions
Acts as a patient advocate while utilizing the nursing process to plan, deliver, and evaluate goal focused, individualized, safe, age specific care for all patients including those with complex pathophysiological needs and/or psychosocial needs.
Unit Description 2GPU is a post-surgical unit with a specialty focused on Orthopedic surgery patients. Most of our patients come from PACU after a number of different surgeries including bariatrics, urology, colorectal, orthopedics of course, and a variety of general surgery patients. The rest of our patients come from the ED for general med/surg admissions. 2GPU is a great unit to hone and expand your nursing skills through the multitude of opportunities allotted to us through our patient population.
Education & Experience Required
BSN preferred.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Certifications & Licenses Required
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
