About this role Carrier Commercial Service has an opening for an experienced HVAC Commercial Service Manager for our New Jersey Market. This position has profit and loss responsibility for a multi‑million dollar service branch and is responsible for growing market share of the Carrier Commercial Service business. The Service Manager will lead field technicians and operations professionals to efficiently execute planned maintenance, repair, overhaul and installation projects in an effort to exceed the expectations of our customers and meet revenue and margin targets. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the commercial air conditioning business including but not limited to relationship management, talent development, field operations, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Customer engagement – ride‑along with technicians to customer sites, expand relationship with sales support team, contact customers, facilitate and respond to issues or complaints
Direct connection to the Techs, WFP and tech acquirement, Union connection, onboarding
Maintain relationship with Union
SME for tech quoting and drive the ops selling charge
1:1’s and connect meetings – Pulse and culture
Training and development schedule, onsite training.
EHS team lead–lead safety trainings
Fleet, Image, Site visits, jobsite QA.
Opportunity development and oversight
Site visits
Work with the Service Coordinator on schedule
Productive and non‑productive planning
PM Plan review for renewals and new contracts with the Contracts Spec
Daily time entry approval, weekly payroll approval and issue resolution
Warranty support and involvement, role and Technical engagement
Every site visit must have a site inspection
First point‑of‑contact with technician for issues on job site / daily resolution
Assist with mid‑month and monthly service financial forecasting
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
Clean and valid driver’s license
5+ years of Commercial Service experience
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of Commercial Service Management experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering preferred
Strong technical acumen and experience
Strong HVAC product and systems knowledge
Customer relationship management
Knowledge of safe work methods and practices
Technical aptitude with knowledge of local building codes and an ability to use resources at hand to develop solutions
Good computer skills: knowledge of and proficiency in common office applications such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and ability to navigate SalesForce.com, ServiceMax, ERP, and other business applications
