Communications & Events Manager

Program Description The Development and Marketing Department advances our mission through fundraising, grant management, donor engagement, campaign management, marketing and communications. Its goal is to increase funding, expand reach, strengthen relationships, and enhance communication.
Position Summary The Communications & Events Manager develops and executes communication strategies that attract, engage, and inspire supporters. Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role leads creation of print and digital materials, donor communications, web content, and production of donor and stakeholder events.
Communications and Marketing
Lead implementation of PHS’s communications strategy to answing and strengthen the brand.
Administer PHS’s website; monitor, manage content and report on analytics.
Collaborate with website vendors to troubleshoot, create, and update content_decode.
Create and publish communications materials including fact sheets, blog posts, annual reports, newsletters and departmental content.
Work with design consultants to produce engaging branded collateral.
Direct marketing campaigns; develop messaging, manage timelines, deliver design for digital, print, and video ads.
Support press conferences, public events, and media opportunities.
Maintain accurate email distribution lists and support email marketing strategy quality.
Analyze and report on email metrics to assess effectiveness and identify improvements.
Events
Plan and manage external and fundraising events, including 3–4 donor salons; oversee schedules, content, vendor support, and staffing.
Produce event materials—invites, signage, on‑site video/slides—with consultants.
Manage outside vendors needed for events.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications,Iam Marketing, Journalism, or Public Health; Master’s preferred.
3–5 years of communication, marketing experience in public health or nonprofit settings.
Proven success in integrated communication and donor engagement strategies.
Experience managing websites and digital content production.
Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with diverse stakeholders quickly and effectively.
Desired Skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication; strong copywriting and proofreading.
Proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
Expertise with email marketing platforms (Constant Contact, Mailchimp).
Strong knowledge of marketing platforms, channels, and best practices across social, digital, and email.
Detail‑oriented, proactive, resourceful; manage projects independently.
Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills.
Demonstrated interest in public health, health equity, or community‑based work.
Reports Toumably Director of Communications.
Direct Reports This position has no direct reports but will supervise consultants, vendors, and interns as needed.
