Homehealth Intake & Scheduling Specialist
Supports BVNA home health services through accurate scheduling of all disciplines and patients. Scheduling duties also include the assignment of BVNA orientees, nursing and therapy students, and residents with preceptors on a rotating basis. When performing Intake Support function, processes incoming patient referrals in accordance with established procedures of the agency.
Employee hours may vary by an hour to cover for other team members.
Job Requirements
Experience: Scheduling experience preferred.
Education: High school diploma or GED.
Licensure & Certifications: None.
Skills & Abilities
Strong communication skills with ability to clearly express scheduling requirements, changes, and patient needs in a courteous but assertive manner.
Computer/software experience required.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficient in medical terminology.
Evidence of dependability in maintaining assigned work schedules with ability to work flexible hours as needed for relief.
Demonstrated ability to distinguish between decisions made independently using a pre-designed plan and decisions made through coordination with a registered clinician or manager.
Demonstrated ability to make decisions and work independently with little direction required.
Ability to multitask priorities accurately and with frequent interruptions.
Ability to function as an active, supportive team member.
Ability to manage stress effectively.
