Qualifications Applicants should hold or be eligible for a valid Kansas teaching license with a 6‑12 English endorsement.
Compensation & Benefits Base salary:
$50,750, commensurate with experience and education, based on the salary schedule in the Piper Teachers Association Negotiated Agreement.
Full single health insurance is paid.
Job Goal To teach, guide, and evaluate all assigned students in a manner that achieves the district’s educational goals.
Essential Job Functions
Plans a program of study that follows district guidelines and meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Guides the learning process toward mastery of curriculum goals and establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects that are clearly communicated to students.
Employs instructional methods and materials most appropriate for meeting the district’s published objectives.
Assesses student accomplishments on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required by policy and as requested.
Counsels with colleagues, students, and/or parents on a regular basis, and as requested by administration.
Assists administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure; maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
Maintains and strives to improve professional performance and competence.
Attends staff meetings as required and serves on committees in accordance with the negotiated agreement.
Observes all policies, rules, and regulations of the Board as stated in the policy handbook.
Observes all rules and regulations of the building to which assigned.
Performs other duties assigned by the administration.
