Maintenance Director

Royal Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking an experienced and dependable
Maintenance Director
to lead and actively support the maintenance operations of our skilled nursing facility. This is a
working director role , responsible for both departmental leadership and hands-on maintenance tasks to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Position Overview
The Maintenance Director plans, organizes, and directs the overall operation of the Maintenance Department while also performing routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance duties. This role requires strong technical skills, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to facility upkeep in compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Oversight
Plan, organize, and direct the Maintenance Department in accordance with regulatory requirements Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules and facility maintenance plans Coordinate maintenance activities with nursing and other departments, particularly in resident care areas Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental controls, and facility policies Participate in on-call rotation, including weekends and holidays as needed Hands-On Maintenance Duties
Perform routine and corrective maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical, and general repairs Repair and maintain facility structures such as walls, baseboards, doors, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and fixtures Replace light bulbs, including overhead and exit lights Move and arrange furniture as needed to complete maintenance tasks Assist with terminal cleaning of resident rooms upon transfer, discharge, or death Maintain grounds, parking areas, and driveways by trimming, sweeping, policing, and general upkeep Respond promptly to unscheduled or emergency maintenance issues Support and actively participate in the Preventative Maintenance Program Qualifications
Minimum of
3 years of maintenance experience , preferably in a
supervisory or leadership capacity Experience in a
healthcare, skilled nursing, or long-term care environment
preferred Training in environmental control practices and procedures preferred Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills Ability to work independently while also leading departmental operations Benefits
