Job Overview & Essential Functions
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. We are expanding and need a Diesel Service Journeyman / Mechanic to perform all functions of a fully qualified heavy‑duty truck repair technician under minimal supervision.
Perform skilled andução mechanical work on heavy‑duty truck equipment and related components with minimal supervision.
Troubleshoot major mechanical and electrical problems.
Assist in training Apprentice Technicians.
Maintain a neat and orderly work area and handle company tools properly.
Consult the Service Foreman if additional repair work is necessary.
Build and maintain favorable customer relations.
Participate in training to stay abreast of new technology.
Complete other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Any person operating or maintaining heavy equipment while under the influence of marijuana or any other illegal drug may constitute a security risk or a lapse of attention that could result in injury, illness, or death. The roles involve operating, repairing, or monitoring heavy machinery, vehicles, hazardous materials, and waste.
Qualifications
CDL (Commercial Driver’s License)
Certifications: A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector
At least one specialization (engine, drive train, etc.)
Minimum of 4 years’ experience or vocational training
Proper tools for the position
Good customer‑relations and communication skills
