Purpose:
Responsible for conducting complex tests and analyses to assure that product complies with established specifications.
Responsibilities
Carries out routine calculations and prepares documentation that shows the results for tests performed.
Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.
Performs other duties assigned by Laboratory Management.
Assures optimum control of quality so that raw material and/or finished products conform to existing requirements, standard operating procedures, and governmental regulations and adhere to all Quality Systems Requirements (QSR) and ISO standards.
Executes simple microbiology analyses in-process sample and finished products (Microbial count, Environmental Monitoring and sterility test) to comply with current procedures and Pharmacopoeias.
Basic knowledge on microbiology principles, theories, practices and methodology.
Completes record of inspection results, acceptance, rejection and disposition for entry into logbooks or computer systems (i.e. LIMS, Empower, etc.).
Supports process improvement teams for departmental and company continuous improvement activities (Lean, compliance laboratory processes, etc.).
Responsible for ensuring adequate systematic control of nonconforming product.
Participates on special requests for product testing, such as qualification protocols.
Ensures proper safety and environmental procedures and practices are utilized.
Complies with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies (for example, ISO 13485, ISO 14001 & OSHA 18001).
The San Angelo Plant is a 24/7 operation; weekends and holidays are included in the work schedule.
Required Qualifications / Requirements
High School/Secondary Education or Equivalent (preferably school coursework in mathematics or Science) required.
0-2 years of relevant experience in training position is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Good interpersonal relations and communication skills required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, LIMS, Empower and other computer software recommended.
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in quality processes and regulatory requirements.
Experience working in an FDA regulated environment preferred (21 CFR Part 211 & 820, ICH Q7 and/or 21 CFR Part 4).
Basic wet chemistry techniques related to qualitative and quantitative.
Must be flexible with a variety of working situations and schedules.
