Under the supervision of the WIC Director, this 20‑hour per week position is responsible for determining income eligibility, scheduling clients, the day‑to‑day office and clinic operations. This position also performs heights, weights, and blood capillary iron and lead testing on women and children ages 1 through 4. The ideal candidate will have experience in the healthcare field. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assessment

Monitor health status and understand issues facing the community. Determines needs and provides information and referrals to community programs to WIC participants. Performs anthropometric and hematological measurements, as needed, to ensure results are within normal limits. Policy Development

Distribute brochures on limited subject matter as approved by WIC Director. Promote a breastfeeding‑friendly environment to WIC clients. Refer to WIC Registered Dietitian and other Nutrition Staff when special health circumstances arise. Community Engagement

Represent the WIC program and health department at designated meetings and community events. Outreach in the community. Vendor Management

Manage contracted grocery vendor relations in Shawano County including training and random monitoring. Attend vendor meetings, as requested. Reconcile problems with WIC participants / vendors. Client Orientation

Enroll and orient clients to WIC, ensuring rules, regulations, and benefits are understood. Observe and report signs of abuse or neglect. Administrative Support

Schedule appointments, answer WIC related concerns, assist in WIC satellite coverage. Take inventories of office / medical supplies, state related forms, pamphlets, infant formula and WIC client donation items. Training & Capacity Building

Attend and participate in training opportunities that further build capacity and skills pertinent to the job. Attend state WIC meetings as required. Program Evaluation

Prepare reports and activity summaries detailing services provided (Farmers Market Nutrition Program and Vendor Management). System Management & Evidence Base

Model Be‑PC (Being Person Centered) skills across all aspects of WIC service delivery. Participate in the local health department national accreditation process. Perform public health preparedness duties, as assigned, in the Public Health Emergency Response Plan. Work Requirements

Associate’s Degree in the health field. Extended training in computer information and word processing. Five years of office experience to include medical assistant experience; experience working with children and adults of diverse social, ethnic and economic backgrounds. Valid driver's license. CPR certification preferred.
