Base Pay Range
$55,000.00/yr - $65,000.00/yr
The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing and distributing firmwide and office‑specific disbursements, as well as internal reimbursements in accordance with Shumaker policies. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of professional accounts payable experience with working knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Where You'll Work The Accounts Payable Clerk is an hourly non‑exempt position and will work full‑time at our Tampa, Florida office.
What You’ll Do
Process approved reimbursement requests by the firm’s personnel and company vendors.
Code and enter invoices into accounting software.
Create and distribute check runs to appropriate personnel across multiple offices and vendors.
Reconcile and record credit card activity for multiple accounts.
Monitor prepaid court filing account balances, enter monthly charges, and reconcile balances.
Research and resolve accounts payableacts with vendors.
Assist with petty cash requests.
Periodically analyze general ledger accounts.
Manage outgoing trust activity for the Tampa trust accounts in accordance with both Florida Bar and firm policy.
What We’re Looking For
Minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
At least 2 years of proven experience as an accounts payable clerk or similar role.
Proficiency using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
Physical Requirements
Sits frequently, six out of eight hours per day. Sitting position static for up to one‑half hour at a time.
Bends and stoops occasionally, up to one‑half hour per day.
