Overview Cadrex is searching for a Sr. Commodity Manager who will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing strategies for critical commodities, ensuring the timely availability of materials, optimizing costs, and mitigating supply chain risks. Your extensive expertise in commodity markets, supplier management, negotiation, and strategic sourcing will be crucial in driving our procurement activities and achieving our business objectives. By collaborating with cross‑functional teams, managing supplier relationships, and implementing best practices, you will contribute to the overall success of our supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, considering market dynamics, cost optimization, quality, and risk mitigation.
Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, price fluctuations, and supplier capabilities within the commodity market.
Evaluate and select suppliers based on their performance, capabilities, financial stability, and alignment with company values and quality standards.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements while minimizing risk and ensuring compliance.
Manage and strengthen supplier relationships, including conducting performance reviews, resolving issues, and fostering collaboration and innovation.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Engineering, Operations, and Quality, to ensure alignment on specifications, requirements, and sourcing strategies.
Monitor and analyze commodity market trends, global trade policies, and supply chain risks to proactively identify opportunities and mitigate disruptions.
Develop and implement supplier development programs to drive continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and innovation.
Implement and maintain procurement best practices, processes, and systems to optimize efficiency, standardization, and compliance.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the procurement team, fostering their professional growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven experience as a Commodity Manager or in a similar role within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
>In-depth knowledge of commodity markets, supply chain dynamics, and global sourcing strategies. Demonstrated experience in negotiating complex contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, driving collaboration and long‑term partnerships.
Proficiency in procurement software and systems (e.g., ERP, MRP, e‑sourcing tools) to manage sourcing activities and data analysis.
Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
