Job Summary The Passenger Service Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the Passenger Service Attendants and Ticket Agents provide services that create memorable experiences and exceed guest expectations while on board the Grand Canyon Railway train and ticketing office.

Responsibilities

Fully understand and support Xanterra’s Mission Statement, Cultural Pillar, community commitment, and core values.

Enforce all Xanterra and Grand Canyon Railway hospitalityπο standards, procedures, policies, and environmental program cultural pillar.

Learn and maintain knowledge about the Grand Canyon Railway and Grand Canyon National Park.

Accommodate guests following established guidelines in a professional manner, effectively handle stressful situations in a public setting and resolve guest‑related problems professionally.

Build and maintain efficient professional working relationships with staff, co‑workers, directors, and other departments.

Supervise the training of employees, monitor work hours, assign passenger cars, direct the work, monitor, maintain, and evaluate performance.

Perform as a Passenger Services Attendant as needed.

Supervise Ticket Agent personnel – train, monitor work hours, assign seating on passenger cars, direct work, and evaluate performance.

Adhere to all prescribed Environmental Management Systems (EMS) policies and corporate commitments to meet ISO 14001 goals and guidelines; reduce, reuse, and recycle program.

Handle bio‑hazard clean‑ups.

Maintain organization and flexibility in carrying out daily job duties.

Be a strong team player and communicate professionally with guests and co‑workers.

Exercise good judgment in decisions related to guest service.

Effectively handle stressful situations in public settings and professionally resolve guest‑related problems.

Museo- supervising Ticket Agent duties as required. Manage daily inventory orders of train and ticket booth supplies and other necessary items.

Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, enforce sanitary practices, and report train maintenance repair issues to the conductor.

Perform routine periodic walk‑throughs in passenger cars; work closely with PSA and Conductor to guarantee guest service and train safety.

Complete required training or certifications related to the job (Railroad Safety 101, TIPs Certification, CPR/First Aid, Cash Handling Class).

Oversee cash handling procedures, ensuring alignment with all accounting policies and procedures.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must have 2 years of leadership experience.

1 year of inventory management experience.

Must have 2 years of customer service experience in hospitality.

Proficient with Windows‑based software and programs.

Must possess a valid Arizona Driver’s License and comply with the Xanterra/GCR Vehicle Policy.

Must be at least 19 years old.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with reservation systems.

Previous bartending experience.

Experience working on a train or in a similar environment is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, and speaking.

Handle items up to 20 pounds while performing job duties.

Frequently stand, walk, sit, reach outward, climb, and bend.

Occasionally reach above shoulders, crawl, squat/kneel, carry items up to 50 lbs., and push/pull up to 100 lbs.

Stand and walk for extended periods on cement floors and occasionally walk on uneven surfaces and aboard a moving train.
