Key Responsibilities
Supervise the team of union employees in designated departments, fostering a safe work environment and following standard work guidelines, operating instructions, quality audits, 5S housekeeping and other safety, quality, and environmental initiatives.
Schedule and execute daily work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, and schedules to meet production goals.
Orient and train employees, communicate job expectations, monitor progress, and provide performance feedback.
Ensure compliance with all company safety standards for people, property, and equipment.
Support company objectives and continuous improvement activities, offering improvement ideas.
Address employee issues effectively, fairly, and consistently.
Participate in workplace injury investigations.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years in a direct supervisory role overseeing an hourly workforce in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Strong communication skills and proven leadership over a team of hourly employees.
High sense of customer service excellence with the ability to work in an open, honest, team‑driven environment.
Ability to plan and accomplish project‑driven goals, setting an atmosphere of accountability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in a mechanical/technical process with close attention to detail in a multi‑tasking, fast‑paced environment.
Software experience, including MS Office (Word, Excel) and ERP software, preferably SAP.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Facility spans 1 million+ square feet of enclosed office and manufacturing space.
Move throughout the facility to attend to various issues.
Work effectively in teams across functional groups with strong communication skills and the ability to lead.
Perform sedentary work on various computer systems.
Position is on-site at East Longmeadow, MA facility.
