Production Planner
Job Summary
A Production Planner will develop and manage the execution of the production schedule as a result of line of balance output, taking into consideration the available capacity, material availability and program delivery commitments. The Planner communicates manufacturing status, expected completion dates and production risk analysis to leadership and program managers based on internal and external supply.
Responsibilities
Partner with procurement, production manager, quality, engineering, and program management to proactively plan, schedule, and manage development, production, and aftermarket support environments.
Manage and own execution of items associated with planner code, including release of internal jobs, purchase requisitions, and handling disruptions in the internal factory (shortages, MRB, constraints), providing feedback to internal customers.
Advise management on work‑in‑progress status, material availability and potential production problems to ensure personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
Monitor internal and external supply chain alignment, identify and resolve constraints, maintain line of balance (build through) and purchase requests for production or purchase of components based on master schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
Play an integral part of Integrated Product Teams (IPT) by interfacing effectively with internal customers.
Assist management in developing and executing plans for assigned products to maximize scheduled on‑time completion; analyze supply and demand data and report to determine critical path constraints.
Manage manual demand for releases, facilitate ECN/ECP changes, coordinate production cut‑ins, review excess material for potential use in other jobs, and create material transfers, borrow/payback transactions and PO change requests.
Respond to ad‑hoc requests from management and other departments, providing timely and accurate analysis and reports.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of moderately professionally related experience preferred.
1‑3 years MRP experience & CPIM certification preferred.
Self‑starter able to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage multiple priorities efficiently.
Excellent communication, facilitation and networking skills.
Outstanding analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent partnering and team‑building skills.
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook; prior MRP software experience.
PowerPoint, MS Projects, EMatrix, Oracle ERP, PowerBI experience preferred.
