Samaritan Hospital is seeking two (2) full-time Locum Psychiatrists to provide coverage on its Adult Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit , starting as soon as credentialed . This is a well-supported inpatient role within a stable, established psychiatric service line.

Position Highlights
  • Setting: Adult Inpatient Psychiatry

  • Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM

  • Call: 1:4

  • Start Date: ASAP upon credentialing

  • EMR: EPIC

  • Coverage Type: Full-time locum

Clinical Details
  • Adult Behavioral Health Unit: 30 beds shared between 2 physicians ( 15 patients per provider)

  • Total Inpatient Capacity: 63 beds

  • Inpatient Team: 3 core inpatient psychiatrists + 2 locum openings

  • Outpatient Team: Fully staffed model of 5 physicians and 1 APP

  • Pediatrics Exposure: Limited to crisis unit coverage during weekend call only; pediatric patients are evaluated and transferred if admitted

  • Safety: 24/7 on-site security; all staff participate in codes

Requirements (Strict)
  • Board Certified in Psychiatry

  • Active New York medical license at time of submission

  • ACLS certification - We can help with Life Support Certification if needed.

  • Clean background (due to expedited credentialing)

  • Full-time availability must be confirmed at submission

  • Self-Query NPDB report required at presentation (must be pulled within the same month)
